Midwest Perlite is an expanded perlite manufacturing company located in Grand Chute, Wisconsin near Appleton.  We are a family owned and operated company since 1956. Our perlite has been in use by many commercial growers, agricultural companies, building material manufactures and filtration industries. We specialize in Horticulture perlite but also provide additional grades of perlite to service other industries as well. With our strategic location we are able to easily serve customers in the Midwest and central Canada.

Midwest Perlite purchases the crude ore mainly from Cornerstone Industrial Mineral located in Lake County, Oregon, USA.  We have partnered with them in business for nearly 20 years and found them to be a valuable source of our success.  With our unique expansion process and their high quality ore, we are able to provide our customers with high standard expanded perlite.

Midwest Perlite has been a valuable member of the Perlite Institute for over 30 years. Former president, Gene Hoople, spent over 10 years as the treasurer on the board of directors until his retirement in 2003. His son, Keith bought the business and continued his membership. In 2014, Keith was also elected to serve on the board of directors for the Perlite Institute.

Keith Hoople

Keith started working at Midwest Perlite when he was just 14, sweeping and cleaning the factory and trailers. During college he would spend his time off running and bagging perlite. After college he started working full time, helping his father, Gene, run the business.  In 2005, he purchased Midwest Perlite after Gene retired.

On his time off you can find Keith at his cottage in Eagle River, WI with his wife Julie, and their 3 kids. He enjoys fishing, hunting and anything outdoors.

Naomi Hoople

Keith’s “baby” sister also started working in the family business in high school.  She started working in the office with their mother, Robyn, filing and answering phones. She left the business and worked as a dental assistant for 15 years. In 2014, she returned while she attended college to obtain associated degrees in Business Management and Marketing. After receiving her degrees, she resumed to work full-time.

Naomi enjoys spending quality time with her two children. In the summer months she finds time to relax camping and gardening.
